The international standard for wooden packaging
Wooden packaging used internationally must be manufactured in accordance with the ISPM-15 requirements.
During heat treatment, the wood is heated to 56 C° for at least 30 minutes. The requirements do not cover processed wood, such as plywood, chipboard, masonite, etc. Read more at IPPC
What happens if wooden packaging does not meet the requirements?
ISPM-15 states several possibilities: treatment (usually with gas), destruction or re-export, ie the consignment is sent back.
